Oil Blending Optimization Front-end Engineering & Design (FEED)
Midstream services company | Edmonton & Hardisty, AB
The client handles several hundred thousand barrels per day of crude oil and other hydrocarbon products through their Edmonton and Hardisty Terminals and is constantly looking to maximize oil blending opportunities. They were able to find an experienced engineering team in Journey to work collaboratively with their projects and marketing teams and gain a better understanding of the needs of both. This allows us to help define the potential opportunities in support of capital prioritization and planning efforts.
Complex brownfield opportunities require an experienced team!
Journey has supported the client through various front-end engineering design (FEED) studies related to oil blending. The team works collaboratively with the client’s internal groups to define the opportunity to a sufficient degree to be able to provide a lean set of FEED deliverables including flow sheets, plot plans, and an AACE Capital Cost Estimate and associated preliminary schedule. These projects present typical brownfield challenges associated with a highly active site, including minimizing downtimes, unknown underground utilities, and critical stakeholders (both internal and external) with significant input into project design.
