Willesden Green Cell 4
In 2018, the Client chose to partner with Journey Engineering (Journey) to perform Quality Assurance (QA) throughout the construction of Cell 4 at the Willesden Green Class II Landfill. Journey performed QA Inspection as well as project management responsibilities such as production tracking, cost tracking, payment certificates, and change orders. Upon completion of the project, Journey put together the Issued for Record (IFR) drawing set and prepared a Construction QA Report for submission to the Regulator.
Close Partnership with both the Client and Local Contractor to Mitigate Construction Delays.
Although the site experienced large amounts of rain in the spring, the project was able to avoid delays by maintaining effective drainage throughout construction. Substantial milestones of the project were completed on schedule and final completion of the project was on budget. This project was executed efficiently due to Journey’s ability to work as a team with the designated earthworks contractor. The selected earthworks contractor was a small construction company, local to the area, which Journey has gone on to work closely with on multiple projects since the completion of this Class II landfill.
