Team Profile: Isabelle Durand

Here at Journey Engineering Corporation, we seem to have found the magic formula in discovering the cream-of-the-crop engineering summer students! Isabelle Durand currently studies at the University of Saskatchewan and is going into her 3rd year of #civil engineering. Since not everything is done in a unilateral fashion due to varying conditions and factors, she appreciates first learning about why things are done in a certain way and then finds ways to improve on the existing process. Engineering designs often need to be tailored for real life, practical use as well.

Isabelle has given great thought to her future post-graduation plans, which is to specialize in #Water and #Municipal Engineering. She has already hit the ground running and is starting to experience all that our project sites have to offer; she is currently doing civil #QAQC #inspection on a #lagoon construction project. Responsibilities include earthworks density testing, geosynthetics installation inspection, and daily production reporting. Under the team’s mentorship, we are confident that she will go very far in her chosen field!

Outside of school and work, Isabelle enjoys #activities like running, lifting weights, reading, camping, and boating. She also loves spending time with her dog named Belle and horse named Brigs.

“Isabelle has a fierce passion to learn! She takes on every challenge with great enthusiasm and excitement. She has a bright future in civil engineering and Journey is thrilled to be a part of it.” – Ryan Foulston, Manager of Infrastructure Projects
