Project Spotlight: Willesden Green South Staged Cap Design and Construction

#JourneyProjectSpotlight

When our client needed to create a staged cap to temporarily close a #landfill near Rocky Mountain House, they reached out to the #Journey team first. This civil design and construction project was led by Martin Bellmont, who has depth of expertise in many similar successful projects. In line with the goal of reducing leachate generation and creating a structure to drain the falling stormwater, we were confident that any new components added fits with the existing #infrastructure without having to perform many field adjustments to accommodate the operation’s #waste placement.

Construction had started in early January of 2022 with project #completion in May of the same year – despite unfavourable weather conditions and logistics challenges. By anticipating the client’s needs and keeping the schedule and budget tight, we delivered great #advantages for the client’s landfill and leachate disposal system.
